Wedding Hair and Make Up Inspiration (picture heavy)

One thing I am very excited about come wedding day is getting pampered by my hair stylist/ make up artist. Her name is Melissa and she is one of the sweetest, funniest, and most kindest people. I love working with her, and I only get my hair done by her. I am a very faithful client, what can I say. :)
Melissa already has the "morning of" all planned out for my big day. My mom, Harlow, and I will be getting our hair done and make up applied by her and some of her assistants. It will be a morning full of glitz and beauty and of course some mimosas! :) I am also excited to spend that morning with two of the most beautiful girls in my life, and my two best friends, my Mom and Harlow!
So here is my inspiration for my hair and make up...

Make up:

Reese Witherspoon has very soft feminine make up that isn't to over the top

I love her make up!

Mila Kunis her make up is so simple yet beautiful.

Kate Beckinsale she is just so beautiful and her make up is so simple and soft.

Another one of my favorites. Veronika from Veronikas Blushing beauty blog

Audrina Patridge

Kate Beckinsale. Another favorite!
 She is so gorgeous!!

I love this eye make up!

 Another favorite for make up.

I am defiantly leaning towards more of a bolder make up application on my wedding day. I don't normally wear a ton of make up so I think it will be the perfect day to play up my make up and do something a little different then usual. Also, the heavier make up application looks better in photographs. I haven't ruled out the softer make up looks yet though. I still find something very elegant about them, and who knows how heavier and a more bronzed look will look on me and my skin tone.

Hair:

This is how I want the back of my hair to look. Or something similar. This is from Veronika over at Veronikas Blushing Check out her blog she is absolutely beautiful and gives  great fashion and beauty advice!

The bump might be a little to big for my taste but Jessica Simpson is beautiful!

Love her hair, flowers and make up!!

Besides wanting her tan for the wedding, love her hair!

I want a feather hair piece in my hair also. Feathers will be a accent through out the wedding this piece would be perfect.

I just love her hair! This is the look  I'm going for.
Another from Veronika at Veronikas Blushing
I for sure want my hair down. I have never been much of a fan of my hair being up. Maybe its because my hair is so long it's kinda like a security blanket. My hair also holds curl very well so it is unlikely it will fall out after being in all day. I am still on the look out for inspirational pictures, but this is a good start for now!
Thanks for reading! Hope you enjoyed the photos as much as I do.

Merinda

The Bling

It has been a very long day! So even though it's getting late I want to be faithful to my little blog and update. :)

Let's just say I LOVE my engagement ring! It is my favorite piece of jewelry and I wear it everyday, I couldn't live without it. I take very good care of it, I get it cleaned regularly, make sure none of the diamonds are loose, and most importantly I show off the beautiful sparkly diamondness (made up word I know) to everyone! That's what your supposed to do right ladies!! :)

and....

I always proudly have to tell everyone that "He went to Jared's!"
That is right everyone, he went to Jared's!! I often wonder if the only reason why he bought my ring there was so I could be a walking commercial, yelling that to everyone. haha! I'm kidding. But, I do have to give him props for picking out my engagement ring all by himself. I simply told him I wanted a diamond and left the rest up to him.

I now (well for the past 2 years) am the proud owner of this pretty little thing...

A 2 Carat, princess cut dazzling diamond ring!
All together it has 3 princess cut stones in the middle.
2 rows of 20 princess cut diamonds, decorating the sides.
and 2 round cut stones on the front and back. (I will show a picture so you understand what I'm taking about)

                                                                              All pictures courtesy of Jared.com

There it is in all it's prettiness. I could not have picked out a more beautiful ring myself. It is my perfect engagement ring. I LOVE IT! I am excited to have it for many years to come, and I love that Nathan loves it just as much as I do.
Nathan's engagement/wedding band is a simple palladium band. I have no pictures but it is a very NICE ring! Palladium is just a step down from platinum. What can I say, we like to spoil each other. :)

It is passed my bedtime so goodnight everyone!

The Story of Us

Since this is a wedding blog I thought it would be nice if you knew how we "met". Nathan and I went to high school together and were in the same graduating class. We were complete opposites. We hung out with different crowds, never talked, didn't know a thing about each other. Except, we did dissect a worm together freshman year biology, he sat behind me in college algebra senior year, and 2 of his best friends were my cousins. Little did we know the plans that God had for our futures.

and it all started because of this...

The Art Institute of Dallas... Its the short glass building behind the stop light.

I, myself, discovered the Art Institute of Dallas when I was doing a google search for fashion marketing schools. Nathan, heard about the Art Institute through a friend of his. Whom, I also believe was an art teacher, I don't remember though, correct me if I'm wrong. We both had our own plans to move to Dallas alone and go to school at the Art Institute. We both wanted to get out of the small town and do something great with our lives, get jobs we loved, as well as make lots of money! :)

The Night It all Began...
I was hanging out with two of my best friends, Emmilee and Lacie. Emmilee then told me that Nathan was going to the same school I was in Dallas, I thought that was pretty cool so I texted him. We talked all the rest of the night, I believe I even called him on my drive home from Emmilee's house. I don't remember what we talked about but I do remember  asking him if he was on a date because he was hanging out with a girl that night. He says he wasn't. :) I guess I said all the right things that night because every single day after that he texted me. How we had so much to talk about and hardly knowing each other, I will never know. I just remember feeling so content and happy just talking to him, I never felt like I needed to be anyone other then myself, everything felt right.

We texted back and fourth for about 2 weeks till we finally hung out. The first time we hung out we literally just drove around and talked. It was a Thursday to be exact. To some that might seem boring, but when your with someone who is so easy to be around it didn't really matter how boring anything was. Right before I was going home that night we made a bet. I said something about it raining the next day, he said he didn't think it was going to. He was laughing when he said it so I'm sure he was just making fun of me for mentioning the weather. Ha! I said if I win then I get a kiss on the cheek. Well what do you know, come Friday June 28, 2008, we were hanging out yet again and it rained!! So what does Nathan do??? He leans over and kisses me on the cheek, our first kiss! :) He then didn't kiss me again for probably a month if you really want to know. We continued to hang out almost every weekend and talked EVERYDAY.

We decided to get an apartment together to cut down on the costs of living in a big city. Most people said it was a terrible idea and we would never make it. All odds were against us. Thankfully, we have amazing families and support systems who helped us through and reminded us to hold our heads high. We did something not many people can do, pick up our lives and move 6 hours away from everything and everyone we have ever known, not knowing a lot about each other, besides the fact of having the same goals and dreams in life.

Our first apartment ^^^
After 2 quarters of going to the Art Institute I decided it wasn't the school for me. Nathan is still attending and will graduate with a Graphic Design degree this summer. He is AMAZING at what he does. Some of his work has been on the side of the dart buses that drive around Dallas, we have even found a few of his ads in local magazines, he also works for a sports team here in Dallas. He doesn't get told enough how good he really is, he is going to go far in life with the talent he has. No matter where we live!! We both plan to continue with school and get our Masters degree's.

Wow, this is long! If you have made it this far I hope I haven't bore you to much! I think that's all I'll write for tonight, I'm going to go spend some time with a beautiful little girl in my life!

Love,
Merinda

First ever blog post!!

Hey everyone!

So, I did it! I finally got a blog. It has been something I have been wanting do for a while now but never had the guts to actually do it. I have always been interested in reading fashion and beauty blogs and that is where most of my inspiration has come from to do this. Also, I have a 3 year old lap top that I have a feeling any day now will decide to crash on me, and I will lose all of my wedding inspiration stuff, home decor ideas, and all the cute little things I want to buy or make for Harlow.

I am not much of a writer, just a warning. I will write what ever happens to come to mind. I will probably put periods and comas in all the wrong places, but at least I can spell (thank you spell check)!

Just because this blog is available to the WORLD! I will not be posting any pictures of Nathan, Harlow, myself, or anyone that I know for that matter. I have to protect my loved ones from all the crazies out there. This is mainly an inspiration blog (wedding, baby stuff, home decor inspiration). I may mention things that go on in our life and what were up to, but were pretty boring people so I doubt that will happen often.

I hope this blog will help our families keep up with our wedding planning, future house buying, job/degree seeking, and all things pretty that I stumble across and want to share with you!

I hope you enjoy my blog!

Love,
Merinda
