I am not much of a Valentines person, I consider it a pretty ridiculous holiday but these past 4 years Nathan has always done his best to make it special for me.
Even though he admits he isn't a fan of February 14th either.
I am linking up today with
1. How long have you and your significant other been together?
Nathan and I have been together for 3 years and 8 months!
2. How did you meet? {What's your "love" story?}
In one of my very first posts I wrote about how we "met" but brief summary of the story is... We went to high school together, didn't really know each other, graduated, then he whisked me off to Dallas 1 year later. It's not as romantic as it sounds but our relationship was pretty spontaneous!
3. If married, how long have you been married? If not, is this the guy you hope to marry? {do tell}
We have been married for 4 months, but I could not imagine my life with anyone else. I thank God everyday for him and the life He has given us together.
4. If you are married, where did you get married at? Big or small wedding? If not, where would you like to get married? And will it be big or small?
We got married in Nathan's childhood church in Independence, Kansas. It was a small wedding with family and very close friends.

5. Do you have any nick-names that you call one another? Do share!
Were pretty boring the typical "babe, baby, honey" I call him Nay, Nathaniel, and Daython sometimes, and he likes to make fun of my name by calling me Merlinda, Miranda, Belinda usually followed by Trailor... (since my middle name is Taylor). haha. I am laughing just thinking about all of this!
6. Name 3 things you love most about your honey.
Everything! Love is unexplainable... there was no one thing he did or said that made me fall in love with him, it was the fact and the feeling that I knew I didn't want to live without him being in my life. But, I do love that he has the same goals and dreams as me, he is hands down the best dad... he loves that little girl and she loves her daddy. I love that no matter how many times I tell him I don't need gifts or anything that hugs, kisses, and cuddles will do-- he always surprises me with little things... like dinner, new shoes, memory cards for my camera. :)
7. Tell us how he proposed? Or your ideal proposal?
Haha... our proposal had the potential to be very romantic but I kind of ruined it by being not so very nice. He told me we needed to go down to the gazebo by the lake that was at our apartments to take pictures for a school project... I had just got home from work, I changed into sweat pants, I grabbed our very furry dog and off we went. I kept complaining about how hot it was, how I was going inside, how he didn't need my help with his school work... blah blah blah. I made it uncomfortable for him so he just said well I was going to ask you to marry me, he handed me the ring, I said yes and off we went. :) It was beyond perfect!
8. Is he a flowers and teddy bear kind of guy for v-day, or strawberries, champagne, and rose petals?
Not really either... This year he got me flowers, chocolate, and some wine to go with our dinner. He also made me a card... There are many perks to being married to a Graphic Designer! :)

9. Are you a sunset dinner on the beach kind of girl, or pop a movie in and relax on the couch?
Since we don't have access to a beach I am going to say movie... but I am not much of a movie person, very few movies can hold my attention long enough.
10. Tell us one thing you'd like to do with your significant other one day. If you could do anything? Go anywhere?
We want to travel the world. We really want to go to Atlantis, Fiji, Bora Bora, Jamaica, and Aspen. Crossing my fingers we can mark all of this off our list before we die!
11. Tell us what you plan on doing on this Valentine's Day.
Not a whole lot, Nathan is gone to work right now. We are making a homemade chicken alfredo pizza for dinner, drinking wine, and watching Mean Girls. ( Well I am watching Mean Girls, Nathan might decline.)
12. Are you asking for anything this Valentine's day?
Nothing. I already have the 2 best Valentines! :)
13. Give us one piece of advice of keeping a relationship strong and full of love.
Trust. Communication. and the little things always matter... Nathan and I have always left little sticky notes around the house for each other to find. It's nice to have a reminder every once and while of how much you are loved and appreciated.
14. Show us a picture of what love means to you.
xoxo,
Merinda
